On Sunday we went to a good old fashioned donkey derby with my brother, sister-in-law & niece. Miss Chloe loves her big cousin and gets so excited when we go to see her.
The weather was crap as usual when you plan an event outside for the day, but we all had fun regardless, and just seeing the two girls running around laughing together always makes me smile and brightens up my day.
The fair had all the usual stalls, including the coconut shy, and hook a duck. Miss Chloe’s favourite thing was the rides, she literally has no fear of height or speed and wants to go on all the big kid rids!
Both the girls had a ride on a donkey and Miss Chloe loved it I think she would have stayed on the donkey all day long. I am waiting for the day she asks Mr D for a pony/horse and I really wouldn’t be surprised if she got one or at least lessons.
The only downside to the day was that I now want to move out to the county and have a big house with land and a pony! And be like Ma & Pa Larkin from The Darling Buds of May.
