I have come to realise that when it comes to parenting I am not alone.
It is easy to feel when you are pacing up and down at 3am with a baby with colic that you are the only one going through this, or if you toddler is a fussy eater and only eats crisps and nuggets, but I promise you, you are not alone.
I haven’t met one person who has said that labour was a breeze, those mum’s you hear about who say that it was a walk in the park and everything went as per their birth plan I now realise they don’t exist, they are an urban myth!
Sometimes, admitting that things are tough is a hard thing to do. But, I promise you, you are not alone. Talking to friends has made me realise that emergency C Sections are more common than I realised. and not being able to breast feed doesn’t make you a failure.
Even on those days when your little prince/princess has turned into the devil and you have a day from hell and count down the hours till bedtime, you are not alone, every parent has one of these days.
Every parent has days when their little one doesn’t want to listen to a word you are saying. Or turns the house upside down, and counting down till bedtime doesn’t make you a bad parent it makes you human. Being a parent is bloody hard work and their is not manual to tell you how to do it the right way, everyone is learning as they go.
It’s comforting to know I AM NOT ALONE.
