Yesterday was my birthday and we decided to go to Paradise Wildlife Park in Broxbounre – https://www.pwpark.com/
It had been on my list of places to visit, and I’m so glad we did. The weather was freezing and when we arrived it was freezing and stating to rain. But we persevered and I am glad we did.
For the 3 of us to get in was £45, which is quite expensive, especially as Chloe is only 2, but it was worth the money.
To wait for the rain to pass and for it to warm up a bit we went straight to the café for a coffee and a bite to eat and Chloe went to toddler heaven – soft play. She would have stayed there all day if she could!
We eventually got Chloe out of the soft play and started on our adventure. There was a large outdoor play area, which had lots of rides and play grounds, but as the weather was wet we only had a mooch but didn’t stop and play, but will be returning in the summer to have a go!
So off we went to find the animals, and there are loads. From Lions & Tigers to farm-yard animals. You can by bags of animal food for £1 and what I liked was it was bags of fresh vegetables, and you could feed pretty much all the animals including the alpacas and Zebras. However our food run out after feeding the goats.
There is loads to see and do around the park, with talks being held about the animals. And lots of outdoor playgrounds and picnic areas. Plus when it was really cold there was places to nip into such as the reptile house and the rain forest room with all the monkeys.
Anything with animals is a winner with us, and the fact that there was areas where you could get up close to them such as with the Emus and wallabies, Chloe loved. Chloe see a Camel and said “its Granpops”. My favourite part was the big cats and we were lucky enough to be there at feeding time and got to see the Cheetah having lunch. And also see the Lions pacing up and down waiting for lunch and roaring, which sounding amazing.
There was just one part that I didn’t like which was left over from Halloween. It was a bat room. OMG it actually frightened the life out of me! The bats were flying around freely and the sound they made was petrifying. I actually run out of there!
If you are looking for a great day out I would highly recommend this place, and we cant wait to go back in the summer.
